Guan Jianzhong
Mr Guan Jianzhong is Chairman and President of Dagong Global Credit Rating, and Chairman of Dagong Europe Credit Rating. As Chairman and President of Dagong Global since 1998, Guan has been dedicated to the development of the Chinese credit rating market and credit rating analytic technologies. He promoted Dagong’s technical cooperation with an international credit rating agency, developed the first Chinese credit rating methodology and established the first credit rating post-doctoral research station in China. In conjunction with Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, he established the first credit rating and risk management college: Dagong Credit Management School. Previously, Guan worked in the planning commission of Shanxi province and China National Aero-tech Import & Export Corporation (CATIC). He was also the founder and General Manager of CATIC Investment Corporation and CATIC US Financial Corporation. He has been involved in the development of the Asian Bond Market Initiative. As an adjunct to his efforts, Guan established institutional cooperation with Japanese and Korean domestic credit rating agencies, including the China-Japan-Korea Credit Rating Forums successfully held in Beijing and Tokyo. He has developed the Dagong Credit Rating Methodology: the first rating methodology focused on intellectual property rights incorporating international standards and adapting the methodology to conditions in China, as well as proposing a plan for the Chinese credit system and a manual for the establishment of that system. Guan is a graduate from Shanxi Finance and Economics Institute and is a China Certified Public Accountant. He specialises in the analysis of capital markets and both domestic and international credit systems. He is the co-author of several academic books including Credit Analysis on Hot Industries Under the Current Economic Situation, and Sovereignty Credit Risk Analysis in Global Financial Crisis. In addition, he has published a series of research papers including, A Review of Chinese Credit Risk Analysis Industry, The Rise of China Requires Powerful Domestic Credit Rating Agencies, and Build a New International Credit Rating System.

Simon Choi
Board Member
Mr Simon Choi is a Member of the Board of Directors of Dagong Europe Credit Rating, and the Chief Executive Officer of Dagong Global Credit Rating (Hong Kong) Co. Ltd and Dagong Overseas Investment Co., Ltd.. He is a veteran in the financial services with over 20 years of experience in high profile financial institutions at a global scale. He joined the Dagong group in 2015, driving its internationalisation and expansion plan in the Asia Pacific region. He was previously Senior Leader - Risk and capital management technology of GE Capital in the US. Prior to this, he worked for Goldman Sachs as Head of Investment Research Technology of the Asia Pacific region, based in HK and Singapore. Before his relocation to Asia, he spent many years working on Wall Street, leading programs at Alverez & Marsal and heading the Innovation Labs at Morgan Stanley. He has a MBA degree on Finance, Emerging Markets and Management from Columbia Business School.

Mohamed Shaban
Independent Non-Executive Director
Dr Mohamed Shaban is an Independent non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Dagong Europe Credit Rating. He has extensive industry and academia experience in the areas of asset management, corporate finance and financial services industry. Dr Shaban is a member of CFA Institute. He is currently Reader (Associate Professor) in Finance at the Sheffield University Management School. He joined Sheffield from the University of Leicester School of Business where he is currently an Honorary Visiting Fellow. Formerly Mohamed worked in several managerial posts in top regional companies in Egypt before joining academia. His last position was the Director of Corporate Finance at TMG Group. Among his major achievements are the feasibility studies of the landmark residential and hotel complexes in Egypt (Four Seasons Hotels in Cairo, Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh). Dr Shaban is the co-founder and the Vice President of the International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS); and the co-founder of UK Efficiency, Productivity and Innovation Network UKEPIAN. Currently he is the Coordinator of the EURO Working Group on Efficiency and Productivity Analysis. His major research fields are international banking, corporate finance, SME's lending and governance where he published a number of research papers in these areas. Mohamed is consulted as an international expert by Indonesian BPK (Supreme Audit Board) for banking and service sector performance evaluation. Mohamed is currently leading a major research project in the area of SMEs finance in collaboration with researchers from BPK and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).

Ferdinand Mager
Independent Non-Executive Director
Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Mager is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Dagong Europe Credit Rating srl. He is the Chair of Banking and Finance of EBS Business School, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Germany. He joined the EBS Business School in 2009. Prior to this he served as an Associate Professor at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. He graduated at the Erlangen-Nürnberg University where he also obtained his doctoral degree and habilitation. Being CFA charterholder he manages the program partnership with the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and supervises EBS students until the annual CFA Global Investment Research Challenge. Since 2015 he is Head of the FACT Department (Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Taxation). He was significantly involved in various consulting projects at Deutsche Bank, New York, and First National Bank in South Africa. Prof. Mager has an M.A. (Master of Arts) in Chinese Studies.  His current research interests are in the areas of insuring occupational pension schemes (in cooperation with Deutsche Bundesbank) and in market micro structure based on high frequency data. Prof. Ferdinand Mager teaches in the Bachelor program (Corporate Finance and Valuation) as well as in the Master program (Financial Modeling). In the field of Executive Education, he regularly gives lectures in cooperation with the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI).

Andrew Wu
General Manager and Board Member
Mr Andrew Wu is the General Manager of Dagong Europe. He is appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors in April 2017. Andrew is a well-rounded financial services professional with a wealth of global management experiences and extended business networks across the continents. Andrew possesses extensive working experiences in retail, corporate and investment banking across Asia, Europe and Middle East, as well as in-depth knowledge of China's capital market. Prior to joining Dagong, He had a long career at HSBC: he was HSBC's Director of Financial Institutions Group based in Hong Kong, covering the international banks and securities clients for HSBC. Prior to that, he was based in Beijing as the global relationship banker for Chinese clients in the infrastructure sector, facilitating their outbound activities and the Belt and Road projects. Before Beijing, he led the establishment of HSBC's first China Desk in Dubai and was responsible for covering all Chinese multinationals in the Middle East and North Africa, with the additional responsibility of driving the region's RMB internationalisation. Before Dubai, he was a retail banker and manager in Jersey, responsible for HSBC's retail banking network in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. He started his career with HSBC in Shanghai, as a relationship manager for banking clients in the retail and consumer brands sector. Andrew holds a Master Degree from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick in the UK. He is bilingual in Chinese and English and speaks basic Arabic.
